F called this word in the road a sign from the universe. Given that we were walking in the Devil’s Punch Bowl, who knows who the message was actually from 😂 In any case - it chimes nicely with what I have now deemed Project Hamstrong (not a typo); the slow and steady putting the work in to get my leg back up to full fitness.
I’m sat on the sofa today - a day after yesterday’s hike - and I’m thrilled, cause my legs are fine. This is the first of the three hikes I’ve undertaken after my dismissal from the osteopath that hasn’t resulted in my hamstring symptoms coming back with a vengeance. We did our last few miles at a 16 minute/mile pace to make our dinner reservation on time. My Fitbit tells me the hike was longer than it should have been (I was aiming for sub 10km, but did 13-14 instead all told). It wasn’t a flat walk. Yet I’m OK. -
I’ve been really diligent about doing my sports rehabilitation exercises this week - which I’ve found hard to fit in since I’ve been back at work. It seems it works, if you put the work in. Slowly.
