I love this, I literally do it all the time, it opens my shoulders, it's a great upper back stretch and you are upside down, it can't be better 💕💕🙏🏻
Oooopen your heart today and shine some light on those around you 💫💫💫💫💫💫
reminiscing about this Trikonasana my self timer so aptly caught. to shift into this heart opening posture, take a stance with back foot parallel to the back of the mat/rock face. lineup the front heel with the arch of the back foot. ensure even weight distribution in both feet. angle hips to the side, take the arms out parallel to the floor. relax the shoulders away from the ears, and gaze forward as you extend the front fingers to reach forward, hinging at the hips. Stop at that delicate dance between comfort and discomfort, then let the front hand fall to a block/your shin/clasp fingers around big toe. open other arm to the sun, let your heart push forward and your gaze soak in the sunshine. 🌞 ensure the body is bent, not leaning forward or backwards. take flowing, steady breaths that help you to ground down and expand. 🤘🐬 this posture strengthens the legs, knees, arms and chest. it is good for digestive health (so is its sister pose, parvrtta trikonasana). it reduces back pain and sciatica, and was a quintessential pose for my healing after lower back surgery. enjoy your body..... relish in the subtleties.
