Here’s yet another quality brew from one of the greatest breweries on the planet – Stone Brewing Company out of California, USA. This dangerously smooth 9% Imperial IPA is certainly one of the more interesting ones out there. Why? Because the style lines have been crossed. Stone ask the question – is it half IPA, half stout? They say it's all IPA, but I’m still trying to work it out considering its unique blend of styles. This brew has the wonderful bright colour of an imperial IPA, but the spicy cocoa and coffee aroma which you might find in a stout. The complexities are even better on the palate, with the mouth feel leaning toward an IPA, whilst delivering dark chocolate and coffee flavours. It’s slight in carbonation and bitterness with a semi dry finish. All up an amazingly unique brew which can be enjoyed anywhere... In this instance outside one of Australia's iconic structures - The Sydney Opera House!
