I'm breaking a long hiatus from posting stuff on social media because I believe that if you truly want something you must work for it. In this case, for me, this means overcoming the importance I give to what others might think of me and taking this challenge to hold myself accountable.
I started doing yoga as a way to exercise and blow off some steam from work, but it's become a lot more than that. To me yoga is first, a commitment to myself. A commitment to step on my mat regularly to stay in shape, a commitment to push myself out of the comfort zone - both on and off the mat - and a commitment not to give up. Second, a journey to learn how to be in the present and to let go of anything that is not useful - be it insecurities, prejudices or expectations. Last, it is a way for me to get engaged in the community, to connect with others and make friends along the way.
I have truly enjoyed the journey so far and look forward to what it will bring me in the future.
