One prime example of those situations of "I have only 5 minutes to do SOME-thing metabolically productive". This is one of my frequent--primary-- go-to workouts as a "bridge between" my regular workouts when time (or physical, mental) demands throw me a curve. Always serves to build momentum going forward. # Complement this with 5 minutes of mobility work for a total 10-minute investment in your fitness that will give you a 'return' many times over. # Following through with commitment is not always about being committed to a certain "program". It's living a life that prioritizes things and being consistent with those priorities IF EVEN A SCALED-BACK VERSION of what your "regular program" calls for. # In other words, any program is there to apply your commitment... not become it. Many times you'll need to take a detour from the planned path. When training unilaterally, start with your weaker limb and match the rep count on your stronger limb. Why? This will even out imbalances and help prevent injuries during the bilateral movements. For example, if you notice the bar coming up unevenly on a barbell overhead press, you're favoring one side. When my online training client Joe @keepers.josephfitness started training with me in January 2016 his max strict military press was 40kg (88lbs), max dead-hang prone grip pull-up was 20kg (44lbs), and his max pistol squat was 32kg (70lbs). -- Now as of February 2017 his max strict military press is the Beast 48kg (106lbs), as demonstrated in this video, max dead-hang prone grip pull-up is 40kg (88lbs) – it has doubled! – and his max pistol squat is the Beast 48kg (106lbs), also shown in this video. -- By following the press program that I wrote for him, including an overall Beast Tamer program for the 48kg pull-up and 48kg pistol squat, that I wrote for him, within about 12 weeks, by the end of March 2016, he was able to press the Beast 48kg (106lbs).
