I've been doing a lot of thinking about social media, and what exactly is that MAGIC SAUCE that draws me in to certain people. What makes them stand out in this noisy online world? 🤷🏻♀️ This picture gave me the answer I was in search of: THEY SHOW THEIR BROKEN PLATES!!!!!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🙏🏼 So many people have this "Success Theater" approach to social media where everything looks like 🦄 and 🌈 and 💎and 🏝 and ✈️. But is that what we really connect with?
People connect with realness, vulnerability, and transparency. Science has even proven that people are more attracted to others that make "mistakes" because "imperfections" make us more human and more relatable.
Yes, they connect with triumphs, but it's the struggles, and challenges, and bruises and scrapes that make us human.
Anyone who knows me knows that social media kind of makes me want to stick a fork in my eye, but I think a more inspiring and valuable approach to that is to share with you, all of the broken plates that I (and likely all emerging start ups) endure on the journey to success.
Remember, those broken plates are part of your story, and your story can change the world ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼🙏🏼 #imperfectlyperfect
