People who go on vacation usually are divided into two camps.
First camp includes people who drink all the drinks they can and eat all the food they can. Their faces light up when they see bacon. From my experience, these people complain the most about not being able to lose weight.
People from the second camp try to eat as healthy as they can. They go for fruits, salads, and chicken breast. They drink water with lemon, do 8am yoga, and want to connect with nature.
I used to belong to the second camp, thinking that I should be a better version of myself while vacationing. I wanted to impress myself with my super human behaviour for no apparent reason.
Than, I found my balance. I realized that going from one extreme to another is not healthy in any way.
Now, I belong to the camp of my own. I enjoy food, but opt for light protein and vegetables dishes. I might drink a glass of refreshing Savignon Blanc at dinner. I can never do yoga at 8am, but found a 4pm class. I go to gym because I like it, keeping my workouts at medium intensity. Overall, I explore new things with my family, which is very important to me.
If you want to find you balance, here are few tips:
eggs 🍳any style. They're are great protein source. Protein keeps you full longer than carbs.
Grilled 🐟 fish, poultry, or meat are great protein choices.
Colorful vegetables 🥕and leafy 🌱greens for vitamins and fiber.
Fruits 🍉in moderation. They are great, but have lots of sugar.
Dark chocolate🍫, chocolate mousee, sorbet for occasional dessert.
Glass of wine🍷 at dinner. 🔹️SKIP
Cereals as they're high in sugar and heavily processed.
Deli meats are high in sodium.
Pasta 🍝with any white sauce is the most fattening.
Hard liquor🍹 is packed with empty calories and gives you headache.
Donuts🍩, fries, white bread are pointless calories that do nothing good for you.
